High Load Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Full complement cylindrical roller bearings provide the highest possible radial load capacities by maximizing the number of rollers. This design incorporates the lowest sectional height as compared to its width. These bearings are ideally suited to critical applications where the weight must be lifted to considerable heights.

Tapered Roller Bearings for Wind Turbines

Wind turbine and industrial windmill manufacturers usually pair taper roller bearings to handle thrust loads in both directions. Tapered roller bearing assemblies can be adjusted for preload or clearance during assembly. Preload can offer gearbox stability with load sharing between rows and predicted roller-to-race interactions. Clearance or endplay would compensate for thermal growth without any increase in roller friction

Split Inner Radial Ball Bearing

Four-point contact ball bearings are designed to accommodate axial loads in both directions, often with strict space requirements. In some bearing arrangements they are paired with a cylindrical roller bearing to handle all the radial loads.

Radial Ball Bearing

Scheerer radial ball bearings are used in a wide variety of applications. They are non-separable and primarily designed for radial loads but can accommodate axial load in both directions. Other benefits include ease of installation and reliability. They are produced in several different arrangements.

Pitch and Yaw Bearings Used in Windmills

Wind turbines utilize several types of ball or roller bearings for blade retention in the pitch and yaw locations of the structure. These bearings are designed to simultaneously accommodate radial, axial, and moment loads. Designers specify either four point contact ball bearings or eight point contact ball bearings.

The double row, 8-point contact ball bearing has the advantage of evenly distributed ball loads, lower Hertz stresses, less case depth, and an80% increase in capacity for the given dimensional envelope. When your bearing arrives for reconditioning, a thorough inspection and assessment is conducted in our testing facility to determine its condition. Scheerer Bearing’s rating system determines the parts, labor, and materials needed to restore a bearing to the original manufacturer’s specifications. A detailed quote is provided including price, options, and estimated time to complete the project. Our quote enables you to decide whether it is more economical to repair or purchase a new bearing. All refurbished bearings are tested for fit, functionality, component integrity, load testing and life expectancy. Reconditioned bearings are guaranteed of any material or manufacturer defects for one year to be free.
