Coal Industry Bearings

The equipment used in coal processing is subjected to severe working environments, putting extreme pressure on bearing performance and reliability. In our earliest days, Scheerer Bearing got our start proudly manufacturing bearings for coal miners in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Our products have a long and strong reputation for outstanding industrial performance in jaw and cone crushers, vibrating screens, feeders, wash plant equipment, conveyors, and custom components for mining machinery.

Roller Thrust Bearings for Mining and Coal Processing

Roller thrust bearings have the highest possible load carrying capacity for equipment that will endure extreme shock. They offer the highest operational reliability and longest service life. Scheerer manufactures roller thrust bearings with cylindrical, tapered, or spherical rollers. Depending on the bearing roller configuration, they are designed to handle heavy axial loads while providing high axial rigidity or misalignment capabilities, in a limited space.

Spherical Roller Bearings

Double Row Self-aligning Spherical roller bearings are designed to compensate for any shaft misalignment that may occur during routine mining and processing operations. The goal is to provide the highest operational reliability and longest service life possible. Self-aligning bearings are produced in both axially fixed and axially floating configurations. The floating design compensates for shaft elongation due to thermal expansion while the fixed design locates the shaft.

Single Row Full Complement Bearings

Single row full complement bearings are often found in rolling mills and crane sheaves. Full complement cylindrical roller bearings provide the highest possible radial load capacities, maximizing the number of rollers by eliminating the retaining ring or cage. They can handle heavy shock loads and even moment loads in equipment that is operated at low speeds.

You Know in Advance What You Are Getting and How Much it Will Cost

When your bearing arrives for reconditioning, a thorough inspection and assessment is conducted in our testing facility to determine its condition. Scheerer Bearing’s rating system determines the parts, labor, and materials needed to restore a bearing to the original manufacturer’s specifications. A detailed quote is provided including price, options, and estimated time to complete the project. Our quote enables you to decide whether it is more economical to repair or purchase a new bearing. All refurbished bearings are tested for fit, functionality, component integrity, load testing and life expectancy. Reconditioned bearings are guaranteed of any material or manufacturer defects for one year to be free.

Reconditioning Large
Bearings for Clients

Scheerer Bearing routinely reconditions large industrial bearings up to 100” O.D. Our rebuild capabilities include radial ball and roller bearings, ball and roller thrust bearings as well as the steel mill bearings listed above. Bearing sizes range from 2” I.D. to 100” O.D. in many different designs and materials. Scheerer Bearing will rebuild any type or style of bearing from many different manufacturers.
